Currently looking for a first mate starting spring, 2008
Some sailing experience is necessary
We are a sailing charter company currently operating on the coast of Maine, USA and expanding to Florida for the winter season. We will soon be operating 12 months a year, summers in Maine and winters in Florida.
The position of First Mate has many responsibilities both ashore and afloat catering to our clients needs and the efficient operation of a sailing vessel.

While the first mate is not solely responsible for the following duties, they are an important factor in assuring the professional readiness of all aspects of the business. A valid drivers license is required. 

First mates will assist in the following tasks:
1. Daily boat maintenance as needed
2. Provisioning according to pre-selected menu choices
3. Mailing brochures and info packets
4. Greeting guests and providing pleasant, stimulating conversation
5. Sailing the coast of Maine on 7 hr and overnight trips
6. Assist in Informal sailing lessons
7. Cooking, serving
8. Ships laundry
9. Light cleaning

Clients reach us through e-mail, and telephone inquiries. A friendly and pleasant phone manner is needed to answer our clients’ questions.   Computer skills are a plus and informal training will be conducted in specific software applications.
Room and board is provided ashore and afloat.
